An USAF veteran with multiple commendations and several tours of duty under his belt, Colonel Andersson always had a problem with discipline. He was troublesome, loud-mouthed, and prone to bursts of inappropriate sincerity. However, he was also involved in several classified operations, and therefore very hard to get rid of.
He finally got his dishonorable discharge when, after "crashing" his F-15 during a "routine flight", he would insist that he had been shot down by a "flying saucer". When given direct orders from an US senator to drop his nonsensical claims, he punched him.
After this "incident", he seemingly retired, but couldn't stay away from the action. Through his contacts, he ended up falling in with X-COM-affiliated agencies and became a mercenary.
Andersson is a tried-and-true military man, but with little of the military's strictness, inflexibility, and lack of sense of humour. Still, his experience and experience as a pilot are worthy of renown.
