Scandinavia(Denmark excepted) is one of the few regions of Europe holding out against the NecRoman Empire, not due to force of arms, but because the fierce blizzards and frost cause the dead legions to freeze in their tracks. Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland are the closest thing to free nations unharried by war or daemonic/spiritual forces as exist in the world of the Undying Empire.
They know that this will not last forever, though, so many of their most skilled warriors and lorekeepers have gone east, to meet with the Mongol Khans in Asia and assist them in finding a way to deal the Undying Empire a fatal blow. A few others have gone north from Iceland to Greenland and into North America, seeking knowledge there. None of them have yet returned.
